Islamic Relief’s reaction to the UN Security Council’s failure to authorise a resolution demanding a humanitarian ceasefire

In response to the UN Security Council’s failure to authorise a resolution demanding a humanitarian ceasefire, Islamic Relief says:

It is shameful that the UN Security Council has once again failed to agree action to stop the massacre in Gaza.

The death toll is rising by the hour. Nowhere is safe as civilians are attacked relentlessly. Lifesaving humanitarian aid is blocked and we are facing a nightmare scenario of starvation and mass disease outbreaks.

International law is being trampled over in full view of world leaders, and international governments are complicit by allowing this suffering to continue unabated.

There must be a ceasefire and an end to the siege of Gaza. Every delay costs many more civilian lives.
