Violence against women and girls

From domestic violence, early and forced marriage and female genital mutilation/cutting (FGM/C), violence against women and girls is a serious threat to the physical, emotional and spiritual wellbeing of millions right here in the UK and across the world.

Allah Almighty says in the Holy Qur’an:

“O ye who believe! Stand out firmly for justice, as witnesses to Allah.”

It’s our duty to stop this.

We are the first major Muslim NGO to address this issue on a global scale.

We’re now campaigning and calling upon UK Muslim communities and leaders to say no to violence against women and girls and advocate against FGM, EFM, sexual violence and domestic abuse.

And that’s just the start.

We also work to collectively ‘insure’ communities during disasters, which allows them to replace their resources such as livestock quickly after a disaster strikes. We’ve also launched two policy papers for all 30 of our partner and country offices on FGM/C and Early/Forced Marriage to stand up against these practises as a collective as well as launch a consultation on the first ‘Islamic Declaration on Gender Justice’.
