Our work is underpinned by our faith-based values of supporting and empowering the most vulnerable, and by our commitment to furthering the United Nations’ Sustainable Development Goals to bring about long lasting, transformational change.

We are a leading humanitarian INGO and recognised in the sector for our distinctive expertise in delivering aid and empowering the communities we serve. We are increasingly working in the UK to support growing vulnerable communities at home too.

Islamic perspectives on humanitarian and social justice issues inspire all aspects of our work. We are a policy leader  focusing on key international and domestic issues that are affecting our world today – including peacebuilding, child protection, and gender.

We work closely with the communities we serve, to understand their culture and needs and gain their trust. This means we can often respond swiftly to emergencies and work in areas that other organisations cannot access, and we are much better placed to help bring about positive social change. 

In accordance with the prophetic example of speaking out against injustice, we aim to tackle the root causes of poverty and suffering worldwide. 

We work in partnership with other civil society organisations across a variety of platforms to shape the development agenda and improve the impact and effectiveness of humanitarian action. 

The high quality and impact of our work means we are among only 5 UK-based charities to have been certified against the Core Humanitarian Standard (CHS). As full members of the INGO Accountability Charter, our excellence in transparency, good governance and social responsibility is recognised.
