Since 1984, Islamic Relief has saved and transformed the lives of over 117 million people. We work in over 40 countries across the globe, including the UK, reaching areas where many other organisations cannot.

By responding to disasters, rebuilding lives and preparing people in case disaster strikes – we save lives before they are lost.

In addition to providing disaster and emergency response, we also promote sustainable economic and social development by working with local communities – regardless of race, religion or gender. 

We have implemented projects with the UK Aid Match programme and are registered with the UK Charity Commission.

Our range of projects and advocacy campaigns strive to financially and socially empower communities in need. Our work on gender justice in particular aims to challenge harmful socio-cultural norms which restrict women’s emotional, physical, spiritual, financial and sexual wellbeing.

Recognising the increasing impact of climate change on vulnerable communities across the globe, we’re also lobbying the government and challenging behaviours at grassroots levels to ensure that climate change remains on the agenda and that communities across the globe remain safe and resilient from climate change-induced disaster.

In addition to supporting vulnerable communities worldwide and across the UK, we also support volunteer and professional development.

Our volunteer programmes are accredited by the Institute of Leadership and Management (ILM) – part of the City & Guild Group. Islamic Relief was also awarded The Princess Royal Training Award 2018, in recognition of its work with volunteers.
