Islamic Relief is deeply concerned by news of a ground invasion and a complete shutdown of communications in the Gaza Strip.

Our immediate concern is for our brave staff and their families, our partners on the ground, and the long-suffering people of Gaza as they face a terrifying night, dark days ahead, and a hugely uncertain future.

We have lost contact with our team in Gaza and pray for their safety.

We call again on the international community to stop this carnage, to respect the outcome of today’s vote at the United Nations and push for an “immediate humanitarian truce” to prevent a further catastrophic loss of life.
