Sheikh Abdullah al-Judai

Sheikh Abdullah al-Judai is one of the esteemed scholars making up Islamic Relief’s Zakat Advisory Board.

The Zakat Advisory Board, made up of a group of respected scholars, have ratified our Zakat policy and will provide oversight and verification of the distribution of Zakat by Islamic Relief.

Bio: Sheikh Abdullah al-Judai

Sheikh Dr Abdullah al-Judai’ is one of the leading scholars of our time.  A well published author and researcher, Dr. Abdullah Al Judai’ is known across the world for his expertise in Islamic jurisprudence. Currently, he is one of the founding members of the European Council for Fatwa and Research, which has played an instrumental role in bringing together scholars across Europe for Fiqh (Islamic law) issues relating to the West.

The Sheikh began his studies in Iraq, where he pursued traditional Islamic training and received Ijaza from notable scholars in Iraq. He also currently holds a PhD in Islamic Economics, an MA in Islamic Studies as well as a Diploma in Islamic Studies.

In the UK, Sheikh Dr. Abdullah al-Judai’ continues to hold several positions. He is the Managing Director of al-Judai’ Research and Consultancy Centre in Leeds, UK, where he provides consulting services to companies in the field of Islamic financial transactions.

His expertise ranges from Islamic sciences, Qur’anic sciences, and interpretation, to Hadith, and Islamic law.  Today, Sheikh Dr. Abdullah al-Judai also offers his fatwa services to members of the Leeds community and is a prominent member of Leeds Grand Mosque.

The Sheikh continues to offer some of the most established and revered Qur’an and Tafseer classes in the country, which have been in motion for the past 20 years.
