Bangladesh: Ensuring food security for the Rohingyas

6,966 families (29,354 households) have received food packs under Islamic Relief’s General Food Assistance Programme, which is aimed at addressing nutritional needs through ensuring food security.

Islamic Relief Bangladesh (IRB) has been actively involved in providing food assistance for the ‘Forcibly Displaced Myanmar Nationals’ (FDMN) living in Bhashan Char since March 2022.

Each month IRB distributes a food pack to every FDMN family comprising of rice (13 kg per person for every family), lentils, soya bean oil, sugar, salt, potato, onion, garlic, dried fish, turmeric and chili powder by scanning the QR code of the rightsholders’ smart cards.

Islamic Relief also delivers the food pack at the doorsteps of the female headed households, persons with disability as well as expecting and lactating mothers who face difficulty reaching at the distribution point.
