Hogan Lovells

The city law-firm Hogan Lovells hosted an Iftar this Ramadan, in partnership with Islamic Relief.

The event included networking opportunities, discussions with our UK Director Tufail Hussain, as well as Sultana Tafadar (No5 Barristers’ Chambers) and a delicious Iftar.

All proceeds from the Iftar went towards our Turkiye-Syria earthquake appeal.

Our Turkiye-Syria earthquake appeal 

On Monday 6th February 2023, two enormous earthquakes struck the regions of South East Türkiye (Turkey) and North West Syria. Approximately 30 million people have been affected by the disaster in Turkiye and 10.9 million in Syria. Tens of thousands of people have been reported injured across both countries, with over 51,000 confirmed deaths following the terrifying collapse of infrastructure and over 86,000 buildings. 

Islamic Relief teams have been on ground right responding to the disaster in both Türkiye (Turkey) and Northern Syria. Alhamdulillah, with your generosity so far, we have been able to support 1 million people. Find out more about our life-saving work in Turkiye and Syria here.
