Islamic Relief are preparing to distribute aid in Bangladesh as Cyclone Hamoon makes landfall over the southern coast of Bangladesh, impacting over 1.5 million people.

Three people have lost their lives amid the Cyclone, and at least six people have been injured in Cox’s Bazaar City.

The Cyclone has caused widespread devastation, destroying 5,000 homes and damaging a further 32,000.

Cox’s Bazar District is experiencing serious communication disruption and power cuts, preventing access to real-time information, particularly in rural areas and refugee camps.

Islamic Relief is preparing to support affected people

Islamic Relief Bangladesh teams are on the ground and preparing to respond to the potential impacts of Cyclone Hamoon, particularly in Ukhiya Rohingya refugee camps.

We are currently establishing the main needs and have distributed cash vouchers to affected individuals to support them with repairing damages to their homes, caused by the cyclone.
